Today Morning, 7 people were killed in huge fire that broke out at a hotel which was being used as a covid-19 facility in Andhra Pradesh.
The fire broke out at 5am, also it was brought under control withing 30 minutes. The fire caused other pateints to panic, 2 of them jumped off the building to save their lives
The relative of 1 of them said the person had been shifted just two days ago from the hospital to the hotel facility for quarantine. He has reportedly suffered ankle fracture.
Twenty people are rescued from the hotel thus far , police said, adding that a couple of more are feared trapped inside the building.
“The incident happened around 5 am. Around 22 patients are being treated in hospital. We are evacuating the whole building. the rationale of fireside appears to be a brief circuit, as per the preliminary report, but we’ll need to ascertain this,” said Krishna District Collector Mohammad Imtiaz.
Hotel Swarna Palace had been taken on lease by Ramesh hospitals to deal with Covid patients.
“15-20 people are injured within the incident. they need been rushed to hospital. 2-3 of them are critical,” a senior policeman told NDTV.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed shock and grief over the incident. He has instructed officials to conduct enquiry over the matter
