An earthquake hit Delhi at 9.10 pm today. The magnitude is measured to be 4.5 on the Richter Scale, according to the US Geological Survey. The tremors were also felt in Gurugram and Noida.
Earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR on Friday evening.
This is the third time tremors have been felt in Delhi-NCR in the month of May
There are five seismic zones. Delhi falls in the fourth zone.
According to the Delhi Disaster Management Authority, seismicity around Delhi appears to be associated with a major geological structure known as the Delhi-Hardwar Ridge.
According to data collated from the National Centre of Seismology`s website by Dahiya, the NCR region has been hit by 11 earthquakes between March 23 to May 10. As all these came amidst a nation-wide lockdown, they added more to worries of the people.
