This Independence Day, the Ministry of Defence will organize the Flag hosting ceremony on August 15 at Red Fort in Delhi, strict precautions related to covid-19 will be taken.
All the invitess have been requested to wear face masks. There will be availability of hand sanitizers and masks at pre-defined locations.
Participation to the event is only allowed through invitation and members who do not have formal invites cannot attend the venue. Around 4,000 plus invites have been issued to officals, diplomats, member of public and media
Thermal screening in the least entry points for the invitees has been planned. Thorough sanitization of the premises inside and out of doors the Red Fort is being administered regularly.
Adequate medical booths at four locations are found out – near the rampart, at Madhavdas Park and a few of them at 15 August Park. The booths will cater to any attendee who is detected having any symptoms associated with Covid-19 during the entry. Ambulances would even be stationed at the four locations.
The seating enclosures and walkways are laid with wooden floors and carpeting to facilitate seamless movement of guests, at the time avoiding overcrowding of individuals . Additional door frame metal detectors, with adequately spaced markings, are provided to avoid queuing and to make sure smooth passage of all the invitees. Most of the parking areas are brick-lined and paved to make sure smooth entry and exit of vehicles
