Drug Makers asked to indicate the prices of Covid-19 vaccines

The development and trails of covid-19 vaccine in India are progressing good and the drug manufacturers have been asked to indicate potential prices of the vaccine

Dr. V.K. Paul, a member of NITI Aayog and who heads the government’s covid vaccine administrative panel, said: “We have reviewed of these vaccine candidates. These are progressing well and their developments are happening during a reassuring manner.”

“One vaccine is within the stage of phase-3 trials, the opposite two also are progressing well and are within the phase 1-2 of clinical trials,” he added.

“The outline of vaccine administration and provide chain is prepared . As and when required, detailed and micro-level planning for vaccine administration supported a scientific approach consistent with the characteristics of the vaccine are going to be adopted,” he said.

Dr. Paul said that government held discussions with vaccine manufacturers to understand about the facilitations they’re expecting from the govt .

“We requested the vaccine manufacturers to point what possible prices might be . Pricing is extremely complex as a number of these vaccines are at an early stage. we’ve some insights into what the worth range might be , but this is often an information which will be refined as we move along,” he said.

He further added that individual vaccine manufacturers are requested to supply more clear-cut data on their individual production capacities and the way their capacities would pan out with time
