High Speed 4G internet restored in 2 J&K districts
Kashmir’s Ganderbal district and Udhampur in Jammu got high speed 4g internet connectivity restored till September 8 on “trail basis”. This would be the first time after a year-long blackout since the removal of Article 370
The 4G services are limited to postpaid subscribers only. Users of prepaid connection would need a mandatory verification process to access 4G.
The order will be reviewed on Sepetember 9
This restoration of 4G connections in 2 districts comes after the Centre informing the SC that a committee was looking into feasibility of lifting the ban on high speed internet services.
All telecom services was suspended for 3 months since lasy year in August 5. After which landline and 2G mobile connectivity was restored.
On Saturday, BJP’s Jammu & Kashmir general secretary Ashok Koul had said that Kashmir might need to wait for the last terrorist to fall silent before 4g internet are restored
