1938: Karunanidhi entered politics at the age of 14 leading an anti-Hindi protest in Tiruvarur. He later found Tamil Nadu Manavar Mandram, it was the first student wing of Dravidian Movement

1957: Elected as Tamil Nadu legislative assembly from Kulithalai seat
1961: Became Deputy Leader of oppoisiton.

He was born into a poor Isai Vellalar family. His family depended on temples for their livelihood.
He developed interest in drama, poetry and literature early.
His father wanted him to continue their family tradition of music.
He was inspired to enter politics at the age of 14 when he witnessed a speech by Alagiriswamy of the Justice Party.
He got failed in 9th standard, left studies and re-started his love for cinema as a screenwriter and wrote many stories, plays and novels.
