More Chinese Apps Banned, This time The Number is 47

The Government of India has banned another 47 chinese apps after the previous ban on 59 chinese apps.

Indian Ministry of Electronics banned 59 chinese apps on the grounds of national security and India-China tensions. Popular App TikTok was banned along with other popular apps.

The new ban follows up where apps provide access to previously banned apps. This includes many cloned lite versions of the previously banned apps.

CamScanner Advanced comes in the list of newly banned apps.

Goverment of India has listed 275 chinese apps under radar to examine for any kind of violation of national security and privacy.

This List includes PUBG Mobile, Zili, AliExpress, Resso, Ulike owned by ByteDance which is also the owner of TikTok

This List contains 14 Mi apps by Xiaomi.

Apps from Other tech majors like Meitu, Perfect Corp, LBE Tech, Sina Corp, Yoozoo Global, Netease Games are also present.

The goverment is looking to over these 275 apps under radar. The govt may ban all, some or none from the list.

We can also some new law or regulation to srutinize such apps.

An official from Chinese Meity said the govt would follow a due process before deciding to ban any app. “There is a process involved, there is a committee in place for such ban orders. If there is such an order, then Meity will act,” the person said.
