PM Modi’s 1st Video Conference today with Chief Ministers on Covid-19
PM Modi’s video conference consultation with all state CM’s was preplanned. Tuesday and Wednesday are the two days where Covid-19 situation is to be discussed.
Today PM will do a video conferene with CMs of 21 states an UTs.
These include Punjab, Kerala, Goa, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand and the North-Eastern states.
The Covid situation in Delhi will be discussed separately on Wednesday along with Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, Bihar and West Bengal.
This is the sixth round of consultation with the chief ministers with PM Modi, the last being on May 11.
The main objective of the meeting, is to keep the death rate and fatality rate low. A detailed action plan for this purpose has already been chalked out, they added, and PM Modi may even raise the issue in his meeting with chief ministers.
India’s average death rate is lower at 2.9 while the global average is 5.4% which is of concern. Also over 80% of the total deaths in the country are from just five states: Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh.
In Madhya Pradesh, Mandla, Chhindwara, Umaria and Sehore are among the districts; in UP, Lalitpur, Jhansi, Meerut and Agra; and in Maharashtra, Jalgaon, Nandurbar, Dhule, and Aurangabad.
