Rajnath Singh on Sunday said, PM Modi will present a new outline for a self-reliant India in his address to the nation from the Red Fort on this Independence Day on 15 August.
The defence minister told, that various departments of the government are working seriously to implement PM Modi’s initiative for a self-reliant India and that it is an attempt to produce a fresh dimension to Mahatma Gandhi’s push for ‘Swadeshi’.
Singh was speaking at a web event organised to pay tributes to revolutionary insurgent Udham Singh.
Talking about the ‘Atmanirbhar’ initiative, the defence minister said that the coronavirus pandemic has shown that a rustic might not be ready to effectively protect its sovereignty if it’s not self-reliant.
“Our government won’t allow any harm to India’s self respect & sovereignity at any cost,” he said.
