Google has released new tool named SODAR that aims to help android users maintain social distancing. The tool is exclusive only to android users currently.

As lockdown measures are eased around the world and businesses are slowly reopening, it’s more important than ever to observe proper health protocol and social distancing in public. For this, Google has released a handy augmented reality tool that makes things a little easier.

It uses camera to visualise a circle of 2 metre around the user for social distancing via Augemented Reality

Use SODAR Tool

In order to use the tool, users must head to https://sodar.withgoogle.com/ from their Android phones while using the Google Chrome browser.

Then they need to allow the required permissions and then point the camera at the ground in order for the tool to get its bearings straight.

Once done, the tool will project a 2m circle around the user, which can be used to ensure social distancing.
