As people are working more from home due to the new lifestyle of work from home in this current situation of global pandemic.
HP is trying to tap this opportunity with laptops having a SIM card slot. These types of laptops will be used by small and medium businesses and professionals working from home.
HP may launch its sim card enabled laptops in mid-june.
HP is trying to collaborate with leading telecom players to provide dedicated data plans through SIM Card, enabling user to be connected always.
The Laptop will be marketed under the “Always Connected” banner. These laptops may also have intel-based 4G LTE modem.
4G LTE Laptop pricing
Hp will price the upcoming laptop at the half price of current market value of premium notebooks.
Currently, all laptops with 4G LTE connectivity comes in the premium thin and light category. That includes top tier variants of Lenovo ThinkPad and Dell Latitude.
The aggressive pricing may also target the likes of the iPad Pro, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6, and the Microsoft Surface devices, all of which have dedicated 4G LTE SIM card slots.
